Young’s teaches Shotokan with additional systems.

Do I have to sign a contract?
Young’s never requires a contract.

What organization certifies your rank promotions?
Young’s is certified by Hogan’s Karate International.

What is the monthly cost for your classes?
Young’s cost are $35 and $20 for each additional family member

Do you teach the application of the form movements?
Young’s teaches application of the form movements as you learn them.

How many tests do you have before you reach a black belt?
Young’s requires 10 tests to a black belt.

Am I required to test on a certain schedule?
Young’s never requires you to test until you are ready

What is the cost for each test?
Young’s charges $30 per test. When you pass your test you will receive a certificate of promotion, your new belt and a DVD showing what is required for your next promotion.

Am I charged for special classes that are offered?
Young’s does not charge for any special classes.

Am I required to compete in tournaments?
Young’s will train you to compete in tournaments, as a school we do not

What is the cost of all required uniforms, equipment, and supplies?

Young's does not require any purchases of these items. If you decide to join Young's Karate for a one time charge of $50 you will be given a uniform, belt, school patch, school T-shirt, training manual, and a disk showing the requirements for your next promotion

We operate our school in a Christian family orientated manner.

We use Shotokan Karate and the Shotokan Forms as a base for what we teach, but we include many other styles and systems. Our main goal is to teach you to be safe as you go about your daily activities. We also teach Tai Chi, which will improve your balance and focus.

None of our instructors are paid a salary, we all teach for the love of the art. Some people think because we don't charge a large fee, we are not qualified, but you will find we have more martials arts experience than many of the schools that charge large prices. Check our "about us page" to see the experience our instructors have. We teach from a room at Trinity Baptist Church which means we have a very low overhead. Because of these things we have very low rates.

We teach you martial arts, but we also teach you how to teach martial arts. Our thought is if you have to show someone how to do a technique you have to break it down to its basic components and you learn from teaching another student.
